Age-Friendly Cities TV Celebrates the Power of Engagement

Roberta Winitzer

Brookline’s community TV Age-Friendly Cities program for September featured Roberta Winitzer, Chair, Council on Aging, talking about the BrooklineCAN Annual Meeting September 14 and Sara Nelson of the Brookline Recreation Department discussing this year’s Brookline Day September 24.

The theme for the Annual Meeting was “The Power of Engagement”—volunteerism and active participation in the community. The evening featured a reception, Brookline High jazz band entertainment, information booths for BrooklineCAN activities and other volunteer opportunities, community awards, and a keynote speaker. Brookline Day, the biggest event in town held annually at Larz Anderson Park, involves many Brookline Town agencies, organizations, and businesses and is a prime example of the Power of Engagement in Brookline.

The program is aired on Channel 3 on Comcast and RCN, and can be viewed on the top page of the BrooklineCAN website http://www.brooklinecan.org/
