What’s Your Plan for Driving Retirement?

The Brookline/Newton TRIPPS program offers individual support to seniors who are exploring alternatives to driving. This spring, TRIPPS is hosting a two-part panel discussion on the long process of “driving retirement.” On Tuesday, May 17 from 6-8 pm, attendees will hear from a panel of professionals who work with seniors navigating the process of retiring from driving, either gradually or suddenly, and either by necessity or by choice. On Thursday, June 16th from 6-8 pm, the panel for the second session will include seniors from our community who currently get around without driving. The panelists will describe their own experiences, discuss the drawbacks and benefits of using various modes of transportation, and talk about overcoming some of the barriers that can keep seniors from exploring and using non-driving options. Both events will be held at the Brookline Senior Center and are free and open to the public. Please call 617-730-2644 to reserve your seat. Light refreshments will be available. For help with transportation to and from these events, please call 617- 730-2644.
