Large Print Books in Our Public Libraries

The joy of large print books is often not appreciated.  As we grow older and our eye sight weakens large print books are a blessing, especially for those who don’t enjoy reading on a digital device.  Brookline libraries have 3,648 unique titles in large print. For example, popular titles in fiction include All the Light You Cannot See by Anthony Doerr and non-fiction Being Mortal by Atul Gawande are available.  Another reason to seek out the large print collection is that often popular new titles that are in demand can be found in  the large print section and circulate for four weeks instead of two weeks.  Finally, being able to read in bed without the need of reading glasses is a pleasure. Each of the libraries has a special area where large books are shelved.  Ask a library staff member where the location is in your library.
