Town Meeting Warrant Article 4 Passes

Article 4 (Senior-Work-Off Exemption) passed unanimously at Special Town Meeting this November. It increases the amount of the Senior-Work-Off Exemption for eligible taxpayers for fiscal 2016 to $1,125 from the current $1,000 based on the state minimum wage of $9.00 per hour and the continued use of the 125 volunteer service hours allowed in the General Laws of Massachusetts.  The article also secures an increase for FY 17 and FY18 based on the increases to the minimum wage scheduled for FY 17 and FY 18.

Membership Renewal Questions

What is my BrooklineCAN membership renewal date? Your renewal date is based on when you joined. You will receive a letter from us with an enclosed reply envelope when the time comes. If we have your email address, we will email you in the middle of the prior month with a link for renewing online and a membership form.  Your membership adds weight to our advocacy – numbers count – and helps us keep you and others informed about programs and services valued by Brookline seniors.  Watch for your renewal letter, and help us expand our membership by inviting a neighbor or friend to join.
